NEET PG Counselling: MCC Allows Candidates To Change Their Category for Round 1, know details here

Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has allowed the NEET PG 2023 candidates to change their category from SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwD to UR for Round 1 counselling.

As per the notice, MCC received requests from NEET PG 2023 candidates who have inadvertently filled their category as SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwD in the registration form of NBE. However, they are not able to claim reserved category seats due to any reason.

Hence, the Change of Category option has been made available on the front page of the MCC Registration Form on the PG portal. Candidates who wish to change their category from SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwD to UR category for Round-1 of PG Counselling 2023 and subsequent rounds can avail of the option.

Once category is changed from SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwD to UR category, they will be deemed to be UR for further rounds of counseling and will not be able to change their category back to the original i.e, which was filled in the NBE form.

The candidates can avail of the facility of ‘Change of category’ only once. Also, as per the counselling policy of MCC of DGHs/ MoHFW, the benefit of OBC reservation is given to candidates of the OBC-NCL category who belong to the Central List of OBC, the MCC stated.
