NEET SS 2021: MCC to conduct Special Mop Up round 2 counselling for 748 vacant seats
New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is going to conduct a special Mop-Up round 2 for NEET SS 2021 qualified candidates as over 748 Super Speciality seats are vacant even after the completion of 4 rounds of Counselling.
Issuing a notification to this effect, the counselling body stated that this year Medical Counselling Committee of DGHS conducted 2 rounds of Super Specialty (DM/ MCh/ DNB SS) seats followed by a Mop-up round and a Special Mop Up Round. However, still, 748 Super Speciality seats are vacant even after the completion of 4 rounds of Counselling.
Hereby, it has informed all the NEET SS 2021 qualified candidates, the competent authority in consultation with NMC has decided to conduct a Special Mop-up Round II for the vacant 748 Seats in an online mode so that the precious All India Quota seats do not go waste.
The salient points for Special Mop-up Round II may be noted as under -
1. All candidates who have appeared for NEET SS 2021 will be considered eligible; it is to be treated as a one-time measure & not as a precedent.
2. Candidates who are not holding any Seat either in All India Quota or in State Quota (in-service reservation by Tamil Nadu) are eligible to participate in Special Stray Vacancy Round.
3. Candidates who will be allotted seats in Special Mop-up Round II will have to report to the allotted Institute with their original documents.
4. Candidates who are eligible for Super- specialty counselling can register& participate in Special mop-up round II after payment of requisite fees.
5. Details regarding schedule/scheme and eligibility for Special mop-up Round II will be made available at www.mcc.nic.in. Kindly stay in touch with the website for the latest updates.
All NEET-SS 2021 candidates are informed that at present 4 rounds of SS counselling (including a Mop-up round & special mop-up round) have concluded. However, after 4 rounds of online counselling total number of 748 seats are still remaining vacant. Accordingly, competent authorities in consultation with NMC have decided to conduct another round term as Special Mop-up round II through online mode & without any percentile requirement. In order to prevent wastage of precious medical seats for this academic session (i.e. 2021-22). This is a one-time measure & shall not be treated as a matter of precedence.
Instructions for candidates:
Candidates participating in the special Mop-up II round of Super-speciality will have to furnish an undertaking with respect to allotment of seats at the time of Choice Filling on the MCC portal as under -
"I agree to participate in special Mop-up II round of NEET-SS Counselling, 2021. I affirm that I am not holding any seat in the previous rounds of NEET-SS Counselling, 2021 of All India Quota/State Counselling of seats reserved for in-service candidates (Tamil Nadu)."
The Eligibility of candidates to participate in the special Mop-up II round of Super-speciality is reiterated as under -
Eligible Candidates -
1. All candidates who have appeared for NEET SS 2021 will be considered eligible.
2. Only Candidates who have not joined any seats in previous rounds of AIQ or are not holding any seats in Counselling conducted by the State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) are eligible to participate.
3. Candidates who have not registered in earlier rounds of AIQ may register afresh by paying the requisite fee and participate in Special Mop up Round II of SS Counselling 2021.
4. Candidates who have registered in earlier rounds of AIQ or Counselling conducted by the State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) but have not been allotted any seat.
Ineligible Candidates -
Any candidate who has joined a seat in the earlier rounds of AIQ or Counselling conducted by the State of Tamil Nadu (in-service seats) shall not be eligible for participating in the special Mop up Round II.
