NEET SS 2023 Postponed Due to G20 Summit, NBE Issues Notice
New Delhi: Taking note of the fact that the 18th G20 Summit has been scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 and further considering the consequent travel restrictions in place in Delhi from 8th September 2023 to 10th September 2023, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) yesterday postponed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Superspeciality (NEET-SS) 2023 examination.
This decision has been taken by NBEMS as the common centralized admission for Super-Speciality courses in medical colleges across the Country i.e. NEET SS 2023 examination was also scheduled on the same dates as the G20 Summit.
Issuing a Public Notice in this regard on 31.08.2023, NBEMS announced its decision to postpone the exam and mentioned, "In wake of the 18th G20 Summit scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 in India and consequent travel restrictions which shall now be in place in Delhi from 8th September 2023 to 10th September 2023, the conduct of NEET-SS 2023, which was announced to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 across the country, has been deferred."
In the notice, NBE clarified that the revised schedule for the exam shall be website on the website of NBEMS. "The revised schedule for conduct of NEET-SS 2023 across the country shall be notified on NBEMS website shortly," stated the notice dated August 31, 2023.
"For any query, please write to NBEMS at its Communication Web Portal," it further added.
NEET SS is the common centralised entrance test for admission to DM, MCh and DNB SS courses. Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that inviting applications for NEET SS 2023 examination, NBE had informed that the exam shall be conducted on 9th and 10th September 2023 at various examination centres across the country.
The submission of the application form for the exam commenced on July 27, 2023, and it continued till August 16, 2023. NBEMS had earlier announced that after conducting the examination on September 9 and 10, it would declare the results on September 30, 2023.
