NMC extends deadline, asks Medical Colleges to validate NEET PG, SS seats and courses
New Delhi: Extending the deadline for validating the data regarding the number of Postgraduate medical seats (NEET PG and NEET SS) in the institutes, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed the principals of the medical colleges to complete the process of verification within August 8, 2022.
Issuing a notice in this regard, the Deputy Secretary of NMC PG Medical Education Board has advised the colleges to strictly adhere to the deadline, failing which "it will be understood that the College/Institute has no objection to the data displayed on the website," stated NMC.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that seeking validation of data pertaining to the number of seats and courses being offered at their institutes for registration of additional qualifications as well as NEET PG and SS admissions, NMC had directed all medical colleges to verify the same. In case of discrepancies in the said data, the institutes had been directed to intimate NMC about the same and rectify the information accordingly.
For this, the Apex Medical Regulator had given a 15-day deadline to the medical colleges to provide the confirmation. The deadline was set to end on July 22.
However, NMC has now extended the deadline until August 8 and has directed the colleges to validate the data pertaining to the number of seats available in Colleges, for registration of additional qualification and admission/ counselling of NEET PG and NEET SS.
In this regard, the NMC notice dated August 2, 2022, issued for all the Principals of medical institutes stated, "In continuation to this office's Public Notice on the subject matter dated 08.07.2022,it is again requested all the Colleges/Institutions go through the link https://www.nmc.org.in/information-desk/college-and-course-search/ on the website of the National Medical Commission and intimate any discrepancy,if found,in number of seats and/or recognition status of the course latest by 08.08.2022 along with supporting documents."
Advising the colleges to strictly adhere to the deadline, the notice further stated, "It may be noted that if no communication is received within the stipulated time, it will be understood that the College/Institute has no objection to the data displayed on the website."
"The Colleges/Institutes who have already sent the requisite information need not to resend it," it further read.
