NMC asks medical colleges to verify their NEET PG, SS seats and courses, gives deadline
New Delhi: Seeking validation of data pertaining to the number of seats and courses being offered at their institutes for registration of additional qualifications as well as NEET PG and SS admissions, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to verify the same. The institutions can also intimate the NMC to rectify the information if discrepancies are found in the said data.
The apex medical regulator has given a 15-day deadline to the medical institutes to provide confirmation, the same will end on July 22.
The notification to this effect issued by the Deputy Secretary to the NMC, Aujender Singh, calls for the validation of data on the website of the National Medical Commission regarding the number of seats available in Colleges/Institutions for use of registration of additional qualifications and admission/counselling of NEET PG and NEET SS.
The NMC has informed that the number of seats in various Postgraduate courses and their recognition status in the Colleges/Medical Institutions across the country is displayed on the website of the National Medical Commission at the link https://www.nmc.org.in/information-desk/college-and-course-search/.
"The data described in the above link is to be used to register additional qualifications and admission/counselling for NEET PG and NEET SS," the NMC said.
All the Colleges/Institutions have been directed to go through the above link on the website of the National Medical Commission. In case, the authorities find any discrepancy in the data during the verification process, they can inform the NMC for suitable rectification.
"In case of any discrepancy is found in the number of seats and/or recognition status of the course, the same should be intimated to the National Medical Commission within 15 days from the issue of this letter with supporting documents," the NMC notification stated.

Earlier, responding to the queries of PG medicos who had been facing trouble with the registration of their qualifications with respective medical councils post COVID pandemic era, the NMC had directed all the State Medical Councils to register additional qualifications of the first four batches of PG degree (MD, MS) and three batches of PG diploma courses against permitted seats.
The respite came soon after the NMC received several representations from State Medical Councils for knowing the status of recognition of seats shown as permitted on the NMC's website as they require the same for registering the additional qualifications.
