NMC reopens online portal, directs Medical colleges to submit NEET SS admissions info
New Delhi : Through a recent notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has informed the Medical Institutes offering Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the country about the reopening of portal for filling up admission related details for the academic year 2021-2022.
Accordingly, NMC, the Apex medical body has asked the colleges to fill in the admission data for PG Super Specialty and Broad Specialty courses in the portal, which shall remain open from 27th June to 1st July, 2022.
This comes after recently the Medical Counselling Committee announced about its decision of holding a special mop up round for filling up 930 vacant Super Specialty seats.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that recently the National Board of Examinations (NBE) reduced the cut-off for NEET SS 2021 by 15th percentile and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) held a special mop-up round in compliance with the Union Health Ministry order for filling up 930 vacant super specialty seats belonging to Government institutes.

Such a decision was taken by the Health Ministry because of the fact that even after the completion of all the rounds of NEET-SS 2021 Counselling around 1,000 super specialty seats were lying vacant because of the high cut-off marks.
These seats were not only from branches that were least sought after but hundreds of seats belonging to coveted branches such as DM Cardiology (DMCD) and DNBSS Cardiology (DCRD) and those in the super-specializations of Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology even oncology that were also lying vacant.
Blaming the high cut-off marks responsible for the wastage of hundreds of seats, the doctors had been writing to the authorities in this regard and praying for lowering of the cut-off percentile and arranging a stray vacancy round for filling up the vacant seats.
Referring to this, NMC recently directed the medical institutes about the reopening of the portal for filling up admission related data. Referring to the Special Mop-up NEET SS counselling, the Commission mentioned, "As per the Notice dated 17.06.2022 issued by Medical Counseling Committee, a special mop up round for filling 930 vacant seats of Super Specialty courses will be conducted from 25th to 29th June, 2022."
"Accordingly, all the Medical Colleges/Institutes in India are hereby informed that the online portal for filling up the details of candidates who took admission in PG Super Specialty courses, shall be reopened from 27th June to 1st July, 2022," NMC further stated in its Public Notice dated 23.06.2022.
"Portal will also be open for Broad Specialty courses for those colleges which could not fill up the admission data previously due to technical problem or any other reason," the notice further read.
"All are requested to fill in the requisite data in the stipulated time," it added.
"No physical/manual data will be accepted whatsoever is the reason," stated NMC.
Previously, NMC had time and again extended the last date for filling up the admission data on the online portal. This date kept changing on the basis of the last date for NEET PG and NEET SS counselling. While extending the last date back in May, NMC had warned the colleges, "If no data is uploaded on the portal in the stipulated time, then the Medical Colleges/Institutes will be required to fill up the details by physically visiting NMC along with the reason for not filling up the details in time."
However, due to the special mop up round for NEET SS 2021 counselling, the online portal is reopening again and accordingly NMC has asked the medical colleges to fill up the admission data- for the new admissions and also the data regarding Broad Specialty courses that could not be filled due to technical problem or other reasons.
