CENTAC BSc Nursing entrance test on June 14, apply now

Puducherry: Through a recent notice, the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services has announced that the Common Entrance Examination for admission to BSc Nursing courses under CENTAC Government Quota seats for the academic year 2026-27 will be held on June 14, 2026.
The online application process began on May 18 through the official CENTAC portal.
According to the official press release issued by the Government of Puducherry, as per the Notification No.1-6/LT/2026-INC, dated 29.01.2026 of the Secretary, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, has proposed to conduct the Common Entrance Examination to the B.Sc. (Nursing) CENTAC Government Quota Admission, through Board of Examination of Nurses, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Service, Puducherry.
"The B.Sc. (Nursing) aspirants have to apply twice in the CENTAC website, initially for NON NEET Courses and again exclusively for the B.Sc (Nursing) course. Further, the Self Supporting seats of B.Sc. (Nursing) in College of Nursing, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute (IGMC85RI), Puducherry and the Self Supporting seats, NRI Quota seats in Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute (MTPG&RI), Puducherry and Karaikal respectively, will be filled up by considering the NEET UG scorecard. Also, for Management Quota seats, admission will be made through other procedure as followed in the previous years. As on date, the total CENTAC B.Sc (Nursing) Govt. Quota seats available for counselling is 558," the notice stated.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently announced a major increase in the stipend for nursing interns at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, raising it from Rs 500 to Rs 13,150 after nearly 27 years.
According to an official statement, the decision is expected to benefit around 180 nursing interns and has been described as a significant relief for students undergoing clinical training in the national capital.
