DHS Meghalaya Invites Applications For General Nursing and Midwifery course, Apply by July 29, Details
Meghalaya: The Director of Health Services (DHS) has invited applications for General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) for 2022-2023. The last date to apply is 29th July 2022, 3:00 pm.
The candidates need to obtain the application from the Office of the Director of Health Services (MI) Meghalaya, Shillong, and the Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, Tura, West Garo Hills. The application which does not fulfill the requirement as per INC will be rejected. No application will be accepted or entertained after the last date of submission.
DHS has stated that male/female unmarried candidates who are indigenous inhabitants or permanent residents of the State are eligible to apply. But these candidates will have to fulfill specific criteria laid down by DHS.
The eligibility criteria for applying –
1. The minimum age for admission will be 17 years as of 31st December 2022. The upper age limit is 35 yrs, and there is no age bar for candidates possessing ANM Certificate.
2. 10+2 level examination with 40% aggregate marks from recognized universities/ Board. Candidates are also eligible from the State Open School, recognized by the State government, and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS), recognized by the Central Government. However, Science is preferable.
3. 10+2 with English having 40% of Marks in Vocational Stream-Health Care Science from recognized CBSE Board/ State/ Centre.
4. Registered Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with 10+2 educational qualifications.
5. Disabled Candidates – 3% disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity after being thoroughly examined and certified by a Medical & Health Officer.
The screening process will be carried out on 6th September 2022, and 7th September 2022 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at the School of Nursing Civil Hospital, Shillong and Civil Hospital, Tura. The candidates will have to undergo a medical examination on the same day. They have to be present in person for the screening. The candidates are to bring along with all the relevant documents in original at the time of screening.
To minimize the delay and hardship to the candidates, the screening will be arranged in order of merit and aggregate percentage of marks obtained at the qualifying examination, which will be approximately two/three times the number of seats available category-wise.
The list of candidates eligible for Screening will be displayed in the Notice Board of the Directorate of Health Services (MI) Shillong, GNM School of Nursing Civil Hospital Shillong, Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, Tura and Civil Hospital, Tura. The selection of candidates who are medically fit and eligible will be made purely based on merit and subject to the reservation policy of the State Government.
The list of selected candidates eligible for the course will be displayed on the notice board of the Directorate of Health Services (MI), Shillong, and the Office of The District Medical & Health Officer, Tura, West Garo Hills. No individual intimation will be given to the selected candidates.
DHS has further notified that Selected candidates are to report immediately to the Joint Director of Nursing, Directorate of Health Services (MI), for further instruction as the case may be. Selected candidates who fail to report according to the fixed date will automatically lose their right to the nomination. The next eligible candidate from the merit list will be nominated.
The Government will have no obligation to employ the passed-out trainees. Henceforth, as per the INC resolution, there will be no Service Bond.
