DME Chhattisgarh invites fresh online Applications for BSc Nursing admissions, all details here
Chattisgarh- The Director of Medical Education (DME) has recently issued a notice detailing the timetable and new online application process for admission to BSc Nursing programs for the upcoming academic year 2023-24. Additionally, the list of vacant seats in nursing colleges across Chhattisgarh has also been released.
As per the seat matrix attached in the notice, there are 2960 vacant seats in the BSc Nursing program across 124 nursing colleges in Chhattisgarh.
In this regard, new online applications are invited from the candidates seeking admission to the vacant seats of the B.Sc Nursing program on the website mentioned in the notice. The deadline for admission to the Nursing course for the irregular batch has been extended until February 29, 2024.
The application timetable is as follows-

The reason behind inviting new applications is that there were Legislative Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh during November 2023 and hence, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) has no objection to filling the vacant seats of B.Sc Nursing now till 29th February 2024.
Additionally, according to clauses 16 and 17 of the Chhattisgarh Nursing Course Admission Rules 2019, authorization has been granted to reduce the qualifying percentage for minimum qualification to zero.
Online registration required information-
1 Before applying online, candidates must ensure to completely study the Chhattisgarh Nursing Course Admission Rules 2019 and Amendment Dated January 31, 2022 (February 02, 2022).
2 If the candidate wants to make changes to the online application, then after depositing the editing fee for the change, Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) is possible. Changes can be made till the last date of the online application. On availing of the edit option in the application, the e-mail and mobile number given by the candidate will be changed and will be irreversible.
3 For scrutiny and admission process, candidates should review the document list of Rule 9 (twenty) of Chhattisgarh Nursing Course Admission Rules 2019 and keep all the necessary documents available till the last date of online application.
4 The vacant seats of all the institutes have been converted into unreserved cadres and assigned to the institutions as per the rules. Therefore all the vacant seats of all the institutes are of unreserved category.
The notice also said that no further extension will be given for Chhattisgarh and it will also not be quoted as precedence with certain conditions.
CONDITION-
1 Fulfillment of educational requirements as per the required curriculum of the Indian Nursing Council.
2 Nursing universities/colleges will implement the B.Sc.(N) program semester-wise.
3 Students admitted till 31st October 2023 will be considered as a regular batch.
4 Students admitted from November 1, 2023, will be considered as an irregular batch.
5 The examination will be conducted separately for the above batches. Universities will ensure that the institute will comply with the semester requirements prescribed in the syllabus before conducting the examination.
6 To appear for the examination a candidate must have a minimum of 80% attendance (irrespective of absence) in theory and practical in each course/subject. The candidate must have 100% attendance in each practical area before the degree is awarded.
Important Points-
1 For complete admission process rules, candidates are requested to refer to “Chhattisgarh Nursing Course Admission Rules 2019 and Amendment Dated 31st January 2022 (02nd February 2022)”.
2 Candidates should keep visiting the website regularly for information related to counselling.
3 The allocation of all private nursing colleges will also be done by a committee constituted by the Commissioner of Medical Education. Therefore, it is instructed to not get deceived by any person/organisation (approved by the Commissioner) for admission-related proceedings.
