ICFAI University To Introduce GNM Nursing Course With Intake Of 40 Seats, details
Tripura: ICFAI University to introduce GNM Nursing course with an intake capacity of 40 seats per year. The Director of Medical Education (DME Tripura) has announced this through a written notice.
As per the notice, Registrar ICFAI University has received approval from the Government of Tripura to introduce a GNM course with an intake capacity of 40 seats per year.
GNM course is a diploma-level program of 3.5 years in Tripura. The Directorate of Medical Education conducts the counseling and admission 2023. The admissions are made based on merit and prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
The necessary amendment in the list of Institutions under the Directorate of Medical Education Government of Tripura and change of nomenclature of the ICFAI Nursing Institute into ICFAI Nursing School of ICFAI University Tripura has been made. ICFAI Nursing Institute is a unit of ICFAI University Tripura. The University stepped into the field of Nursing in 2019, having NOC from the Government of Tripura and affiliated with Tripura Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council. The main objective is to provide preventive, promotive, restorative, and emergency health care to individuals and communities as required.
The Directorate of Medical Education under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura, started functioning on 15th October 2011. This Directorate deals with matters relating to Medical Education, like Medical Colleges, Regional Pharmacy Colleges, Nursing Colleges in Government and Private Sector, Nursing Education, Paramedical Education, etc. This Directorate conducts Post Graduate courses in respect of some medical colleges. The institutes under this Directorate include Medical Colleges, Pharmacy Colleges, Paramedical Institute, Nursing Institutes of the Government Sector, and Private Nursing Institutes.
