3. Selecting choices/preferences: After uploading the certificates, the candidates should select the disciplines in the order of his/her preference. Each M.Sc Nursing candidate can choose up to 5 disciplines. It is advisable to choose as many discipline preferences as one would wish to consider for the first online counselling. The preferences should be selected within the date and time limits specified on the Important Dates Link. The steps of logging in and choosing the preferences should be done at least once before the mock counselling. The portal will remain open for selecting the disciplines only during the dates specified in the Important dates link on the JIPMER website. Once the candidate has selected the choices, he/she can submit the registration for the first online counselling. If the submission is not done, the system will automatically lock the choices at the end of the date/time period specified for entering choices in the Important dates link.

4. Verification of certificates: The uploaded certificates will be verified, and in case of any discrepancy, the candidate will be notified by email(through the registered email ID) and asked to re-upload those after necessary rectification. The candidates should re-upload all the necessary certificates within the specific time period. No additional time will be provided under any circumstances. If the candidates fail to re-upload the certificates within the specific time or if a certificate related to constitutional/ horizontal reservation is found to be invalid, the candidates will be considered only under the unreserved category for the counselling procedures.

5. Mock counselling: The students will be allotted seats depending on the category wise merit rank order(as per the running Roster Point Reservation detailed in the prospectus) and the choice of the disciplines selected. The seat allocation during mock counselling represents the seat that a candidate is likely to be allocated in the first counselling as per the choices given by the candidates. The seat allocated in mock counselling is NOT final and is subject to change with modifications made by the candidates in their choices/ preferences after the mock counselling and before the actual first counselling.

6. Locking final choice of preferences: After the mock counselling, each candidate will have another opportunity to edit/ reorder their choices before the first actual online counselling/seat allocation. However, once the preferences have been lodged, the discipline preferences cannot be changed for subsequent counselling sessions under any circumstances. Therefore, the candidates are requested to choose the preferences carefully and responsibly. Further, if a candidate does not make any changes in preferences after mock counselling, the system will automatically consider the preferences chosen before the mock counselling for the actual first and subsequent online counselling/seat allocation.

7. First online Counselling/Seat allocation: The seat allocation will be done as per the schedule specified in the Important dates Link in the order of category-based merit, roster point reservation and according to the final preferences provided by the candidates. The available seat of the highest preferred discipline will be allotted to the candidate as per category-based merit list and Roster Point Reservation.

8. Acceptance of the allotted seat: Candidates who are allocated seats in the first counselling are required to login to the M.Sc Nursing first online counselling/seat allocation portal and

ACCEPT the allotted seat within the date and time specified in the Important Dates Link:

An option to refuse the allocated seats is NOT available.

Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidates will be solely responsible for the choices entered.

If a candidate fails to ACCEPT the allotted seat and complete the payment process within the specified date/time limit, the allocated seat will be forfeited, and the candidate will become INELIGIBLE for subsequent rounds of online counselling/seat allocation.

9. Payment of fees and security deposit: Each candidate who is allocated seats and has ACCEPTED the allotted seat is required to make online payment of admission fees as detailed below within the date and time specified later in Important dates link:

10.Reporting to JIPMER for admission: All the candidates who have ACCEPTED the seat and deposited the fee & deposit indicated above should report in-person to JIPMER on the specified date. They should submit the original certificates for verification and complete the admission procedure. The actual dates of reporting and joining will be announced later on JIPMER website. Failure of a candidate to complete the due procedure of admission within the time specified will lead to forfeiture of the allotted seat and render the candidate INELIGIBLE for the subsequent round of online counselling and seat allocation.

11. Candidates who have availed of any (constitutional/PwD horizontal) reservation during the counselling process must submit valid original certificates of their claim for the reserved seat when reporting for admission. If a candidate fails to submit a valid original certificate in support of the claim for reserved seat, the seat allocated in the first counselling will be nullified, and he/she will be eligible to appear in the subsequent round of counselling as an unreserved (UR) candidate, subject to the cut-off in UR merit list. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in Central Government Institutions, as detailed in the Institute Prospectus.

12. Candidates availing PwD horizontal reservation in the first counselling must undergo a medical examination review by a medical board constituted by JIPMER. The decision of the JIPMER Medical Board will be final. If a candidate is found to be ineligible for PwD reservation, the allotment of reserved seat in the first counselling will be cancelled and he/she will be eligible to appear in the second/subsequent round of counselling as UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS candidate in his/her respective category as applicable, but without the PwD reservation provided he/she is otherwise eligible.
