PIMS Reduces Annual Fees for Non-Clinical PG Medical Courses Under Management Quota, know all details
Puducherry- Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has notified regarding the reduction of the annual fee for non-clinical PG medical courses under the management quota for the academic year 2024-25.
As per the notification, the fee committee has fixed the tuition fee for PG Non-Clinical State Govtment Quota Rs.6,55,000/- and for Management Quota Rs.13,05,000/ Fees for the academic year -2024-25.
On this, the PIMS Management Committee has considered reducing the Annual tuition fees fixed by the Fee Committee for the Management Quota seats in the non-clinical subjects for the academic year 2024-25. These reduced annual tuition fees amount to per Annual tuition fees that have been fixed for State Government Quota students.
The Annual tuition fees for both categories of students for Management Quota & State Government Quota could be the same as mentioned below for the Academic year 2024-25.
S.NO | (PG/MD/MS) COURSE SPECIALITY | TOTAL PG SEATS (2024-25) | MANAGEMENT QUOTA SEATS | GOVERNMENT QUOTA SEATS | ANNUAL TUITION FEES FOR AY 2024-25 |
1 | MD Anatomy. | 2 | 1 | 1 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
2 | MD Physiology. | 4 | 2 | 2 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
3 | MD Biochemistry. | 2 | 1 | 1 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
4 | MD Pharmacology. | 2 | 1 | 1 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
5 | MD Pathology. | 3 | 2 | 1 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
6 | MD Microbiology. | 4 | 2 | 2 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
7 | MD Community Medicine. | 4 | 2 | 2 | Rs.6 55000/ - |
TOTAL | 21 | 11 | 10 |
This is being done as most (>75%) of the Non-Clinical Specialities are not filled/have been lying vacant and this consideration could be an opportunity for desirous students to avail this opportunity and join the PG (Non-Clinical) courses based on the counselling to be held by CENTAC (Govt. of Puducherry). This reduction in fee for PG (Non-Clinical) seats is considered without prejudice to the persistent representation to increase the fee fixed by the Fees Committee for both government and Management seats in clinical specialities with a view to sustaining the quality of medical education in our lnstitute and also to cross-subsidise the fees to increase the enrolment in non-clinical specialities for which the demand is decreasing year by year.
