3rd Year MBBS student missing case: Lifeguard undertakes Narco analysis test
Mumbai: A month after the Sessions court directed the Mumbai police crime branch to conduct a narco analysis test on the lifeguard who was last seen with the missing MBBS student from Bandra, the officials conducted the test on the lifeguard at the Nagpada police hospital.
It's been more than nine months since the medico Sadichha San went missing from Bandstand in Bandra. Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the sessions court order and the incident where the 22-year-old medico had gone missing on her way to the college to appear for an internal preliminary examination at the Grant Government Medical College on November 29, 2021. She had boarded a train at 9.58 am at Virar station and got off at Andheri in order to appear for the prelims at 2 pm.

She then boarded another train till Bandra from where she took an auto to Bandstand after which she reportedly went missing. She had called her brother and said that she would call again at 5.30 pm, until when her phone would be switched off. However, when she did not return home till late in the night, her family got worried and started looking for her.
Consequently, a missing person complaint was registered at the Boisar police station. An FIR for kidnapping was registered against unidentified persons. The case was subsequently transferred to unit 9 of the crime branch.
According to crime branch officials, the test was carried out at Nagpada police hospital by a team of specialists including an anesthesiologist, a psychiatrist, a clinical and forensic psychologist from Kalina forensic science laboratory, and an audio-videographer, reports the Hindustan Times. They are expecting a report within next week.
A police official said, "We had applied for the court permission in April. However, the lifeguard, Mittu Singh, remained absent because of which the court order was issued only in the last week of June." The police had to wait after that because the narco analysis machine was out of order. The official added, "But the time it was repaired, the doctor in charge of the test had retired. We had to further wait till a new doctor was brought on board."
A police officer had earlier said, "The woman was last seen heading towards the seashore opposite Taj Lands End hotel and was captured in the CCTV cameras installed at Bandstand at 12.30 am." It is reported that the lifeguard spotted her and followed her as he suspected that she might be attempting suicide. In his statement to the police, the lifeguard said, "Noticing that I was following her, Sane told me that she was not there to end her life. We then started chatting and sat on a rock till 3.30 am. During this period, I clicked four selfies with her on my mobile phone while Sane took one selfie on her phone with me."
The officer further said, "As a lifeguard, Singh had phone numbers of scores of policemen saved in his phone but he did not come forward to give a statement when the news of Sane's disappearance broke. It was only after we zeroed in on him that he admitted he was with her and was the last person to interact with her."
