2 Karad Women Doctors Targeted in AI-Generated Obscene Video

Women Doctors from Karad Targeted in Fake Video
Kolhapur: Two women doctors from Karad town in Maharashtra have become the latest victims of a disturbing case of cyber harassment involving artificial intelligence. Satara police have detained two individuals after an obscene AI-generated video, featuring the doctors with male companions, was found circulating on social media.
The incident came to light after a prominent woman doctor from Karad filed a formal complaint on May 20, reporting that she had been added to a social media group where the obscene video was being shared.
During the investigation, police traced the origin of the video to a location outside Maharashtra.
Speaking to TOI, Inspector R. A. Tashildar of Karad city police station said, "We have found one such video. We have detained two and are carrying out the investigation."
The police are investigating the case. The police have informed that the questioning of the concerned doctor is underway. As soon as this incident came to light, there was a stir in Satara, reports Saam TV.
The police probe also uncovered that a naturopathy practitioner from Karad allegedly provided both the contact details and source material—possibly photos or videos—that were used to create the manipulated content. Investigators believe that this act may have been motivated by personal grievance. The naturopathy clinic was reportedly shut down following a complaint lodged by one of the targeted doctors, potentially triggering the retaliatory attack. "We are exploring multiple angles," said Tashildar.
The case highlights the increasing threat posed by deepfakes and AI-generated content, especially when used maliciously to harass or defame individuals.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the Kotwali police have registered a case against a government doctor accused of creating obscene videos while dressed as a woman, uploading them on adult sites, and operating under a fake transgender identity. The complaint was filed by the doctor's wife, who claimed to have discovered several such videos online. Chief Medical Officer Ramanuj Kannaujia said that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against the doctor.
