On Tuesday night, the medico went inside her hostel room and closed the door at around 10 pm, reports Millennium Post. Later, when some of her inmates attempted knocking on the door around 10.30 pm, she did not respond. Eventually, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside the room.
Police were informed about the same, who reached the spot and recovered the body. Meanwhile, the head of paediatrics, Dr Tarapada Ghosh told TOI that the medico was a bright student and had been busy with the preparations of a seminar.
According to a recent media report in the Times of India, the father of the victim, came to receive her body. He stated that the medico used to call them at noon and at night before going to bed every day. However, she did not call them on Tuesday, following which her parents attempted calling her. She, however, remained unresponsive. They had assumed that she might be busy until the news of her death reached them.
Police have not found a suicide note and are probing the case. The body was sent for an autopsy on Wednesday, after which the cause of death could be ascertained. However, the officers have expressed apprehensions that it might be a case of death by suicide.
