The conference, a biannual event, focused on case-based discussions of the most challenging cases treated by experienced rheumatologists, making it a unique and enriching experience for all attendees. After a case-by-case discussion on how experienced rheumatologists have treated the most complex cases, all the participants were briefed on the conference on how to treat such cases.
The inauguration of the conference was graced by esteemed guests including Dr B. Bhaskar Rao (CMD, KIMS Hospitals), Dr Minu Bajpai (Executive Director of National Boards of Examinations), Dr ChandraShekara (President of Indian Rheumatology Association), Dr Molly Thabah (Prof and HOD, JIPMER, Pondicherry), Dr Sarath Chandra Mouli (Clinical Director, Rheumatology department, KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad), and Dr D Rajkiran (Director, Hyderabad Rheumatology Centre).
Dr Sarath Chandra Mouli Veeravalli, the organizing secretary, and Dr Molly Thabah, the Scientific Chair for CRC2024, led the conference with a focus on discussing topics such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic arthritis, Gout, Vasculitis, Childhood arthritis, and rare rheumatic conditions. The conference also featured a Rheumatology quiz for trainees, providing an engaging platform for young rheumatologists to test their knowledge.
One of the highlights of CRC2024 was the newly included image competition, which received an overwhelming response from participants and added a creative dimension to the conference. Additionally, 260 case abstracts were submitted from across India, with the top selected cases in each category being discussed during the conference sessions.
"We are thrilled with the success of CRC2024 and the enthusiastic participation of rheumatologists from across the country," said Dr Sarath Chandra Mouli Veeravalli. "The conference has provided a valuable opportunity for us to exchange knowledge, discuss challenging cases, and further our understanding of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases."
The Clinical Rheumatology Conference 2024 has once again demonstrated its importance as a leading platform for advancing the field of rheumatology in India. Plans are already underway for the next edition of CRC, which is set to continue its tradition of excellence in knowledge sharing and professional development in rheumatology.
