3-day annual conference of Association of Surgeons of India begins in Jammu
“The J&K Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India is organizing three days Annual Conference at GMC Jammu in collaboration with Postgraduate Department of Surgery GMC Jammu and ASCOMS from Apr 19 to 21,” Prof. (Dr) Sanjay Bhasin, organizing Chairman of the Conference here told reporters at a press conference.
Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) is currently hosting a three-day annual conference at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, which began today.
“The J&K Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India is organizing three days Annual Conference at GMC Jammu in collaboration with Postgraduate Department of Surgery GMC Jammu and ASCOMS from Apr 19 to 21,” Prof. (Dr) Sanjay Bhasin, organizing Chairman of the Conference here told reporters at a press conference.
He was flanked by Chief Patron Prof. Ashutosh Gupta, Patron Prof. Nasib Chand Digra, Organizing Secretaries Dr Harbinder Singh, Dr Shyam Gupta and the other members of the organizing committee, news agency UNI reported.
Prof. Bhasin highlighted the significance of the Association of Surgeons of India, being the second-largest surgical body globally and the largest in the Asia-Pacific region. He emphasized the importance of the Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, led by himself, in organizing such a prestigious event.
“This is a three-day mega surgical event that shall be attended by all the surgeons and under trainees from all over Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and faculty from AIIMS, PGI, Chennai, Jaipur etc,” he added and said that this event shall benefit both surgeons and ultimately the patients.
Prof Ashutosh Gupta underscored the role of the Government Medical College in fostering medical research by inviting experts from around the country.
“These conferences help in exchanging views and opinions about different allied specialties of the Department of Surgery,” he said and was hopeful that this Mega-event is going to be a success and wished the whole organizing team a success.
Dr Nasib Chand Digra emphasized the significance of incorporating the latest medical research into surgical practices to enhance patient care, highlighting the conference's role in achieving this goal.
Dr. Harbinder Singh Bali, the Organizing Secretary, emphasized the importance of embracing technological advancements while maintaining ethical standards and foundational principles.
Dr Rajni Bhardwaj was very hopeful that this event is going to be the right mixture of traditional surgical teaching and newer advancements including minimal access surgeries.
Other members present during the conference were Dr Shyam Gupta (Organizing Secretary), and Dr Satish.
