Dr Banvir had a distinguished career in orthopaedics, serving at Dungarpur District Hospital and Sagwara Hospital before becoming Chief Medical Officer. Even after retiring 13 years ago, he continued his medical practice and remained actively involved in practice at a private hospital.
Beyond his medical career, he was known for his remarkable contribution to orthopaedic care and social service.
According to Bhaskar English, he had performed more than 20,000 polio correction surgeries. Because of this, many disabled people were able to walk again. He was also involved in social service work. He was associated with voluntary organisations like Narayan Seva Sansthan and Mahavir International.
Dr Banvir is survived by his wife, a medical professional, and their two children. His son and daughter-in-law are doctors practising in London, while his daughter lives in Canada with her husband.

Dr. Kantilal Meghwal, a physician at Dungarpur District Hospital, and numerous doctors and social organisations expressed deep condolences on the passing of Dr. Anil Banveer. Various organizations, including the Bharat Vikas Parishad Tilak Branch, remembered his contributions and called it an irreparable loss to the medical world, reports Lalluram.
