8th class pass Quack arrested for running illegal clinic

Surendranagar: In a recent crackdown against illegal medical practices, the LSOJI police have arrested an 8th-grade pass bogus doctor operating an illegal clinic from a residential building in Dhalwana village, located in Limbdi taluka of Surendranagar district.

The police seized medical items and allopathic medicines worth Rs 14,700 from the premises and initiated legal action against the accused.

The arrest came after multiple complaints surfaced regarding a rise in fake doctors operating in rural areas of Surendranagar district. In response, the SOG team conducted a special patrol in Limbdi taluka. During the operation, officials received a tip-off about a suspicious clinic being run from a residential building in Dhalwana village.

According to the news reports, upon investigation, officials found that the accused, a 37-year-old man, originally from West Bengal and currently residing in Dhalwana, was running a clinic without any recognized medical degree or certification.

It has been revealed that the accused, who has passed standard 8, is running a hospital. It has come to light that the accused does not have any kind of degree, reports TV9 Gujrat.

During the raid, H.N. Parikh, Medical Officer of Parnala PHC Centre, and others were also present. While the bogus doctor's property, worth a total of Rs. 14,700, including allopathic medicines of different companies, was seized, and action has been taken against the bogus doctor who was caught, reports Gujarat Samachar.

This case is part of a larger pattern observed in several parts of rural Gujarat, where unqualified individuals have been found running fake clinics.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a Quack was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Ahmedabad Rural Police for running an illegal allopathic clinic in Saraswatinagar, under Changodar police station limits. The accused, originally from Purbanagar in Nadia district, West Bengal, was currently residing in Saraswatinagar, Changodar.
