Absent During Minister's Visit- Thiruvananthapuram Medical College terminates its Deputy MS
Thiruvananthapuram: Not being present during a surprise visit by the state Health Minister has now proven costly for the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital Deputy Superintendent post (Casualty) who has been now removed from his post.
The Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital on Sunday terminated Dr Santhosh Kumar with immediate effect from the Deputy Superintendent post ( Casualty). Dr Santhosh Kumar was removed on various reasons including his absense during the minister's visit as well as not overseeing the functioning of his wing that day
The termination took place after the Directorate of Medical Education issued him an order for failure to appear at a surprise visit by Health Minister Veena George on October 28, last year reports the Indian Express.
In addition to this, he was charged for not supervising the activities of the wing on that day.
His colleagues however justified his presence calling the termination a result of nepotism. .Dr. Santhosh was present when the minister was making rounds at the hospital, stated his nursing officer.
