Suicide Attempt
Narasaraopet: In a tragic incident, a doctor working at AIIMS Bhopal allegedly attempted suicide along with his family in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the death of his wife and minor daughter, while he remains in critical condition.
According to police officials, the accused doctor had checked into a lodge on Saturday evening along with his wife (30) and their three-year-old daughter.
The incident came to light on Sunday morning when hotel staff found the family members lying unconscious in their room and immediately alerted the police.
Upon arrival, police discovered that the doctor’s wife and daughter had died, while the doctor was still alive. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the doctor allegedly administered intoxicating injections to his wife, daughter, and himself in an apparent suicide attempt.
However, the exact reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
Authorities are also probing the source of the injections used and examining possible personal or professional factors that may have contributed to the act.
The police informed UNI, "the doctor administered intoxicated injections to his wife, daughter and himself. The reason for the doctor couple taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained."
