AIIMS Vijaypur paediatrician found dead inside car, police probe underway

Jammu: A woman doctor from the Department of Pediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Vijaypur was found dead inside her car in Jammu’s Rajinder Nagar area on Friday evening, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The doctor was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS Vijaypur. She was reportedly found unconscious inside her car with a cannula attached to her arm. Her husband is reportedly working at a hospital in Himachal Pradesh.
According to news reports, local residents noticed the doctor inside the vehicle and alerted the police. A police team reached the spot and shifted her to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. However, doctors declared her brought dead.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death. The Chinore Police are handling the inquiry, while further details are awaited.
The incident has raised questions about the circumstances in which the doctor was found inside the vehicle. However, police have not yet disclosed any findings regarding the cause or circumstances of her death.
According to a report by State Times, the doctor’s family requested that her body be handed over without a postmortem. However, at the time the report was filed, the body was kept at the GMC Jammu mortuary.
Police are continuing their inquiry into the incident, and further information is expected as the investigation progresses.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in an unfortunate incident, a 23-year-old female intern doctor from Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was found dead at a beach near Panaji on Wednesday, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, police said.
