Kozhikode Medical College Assistant Professor found dead at residence

Kozhikode: A 34-year-old Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (MCH) was found dead at his residence in KSHB Colony near the hospital premises on Friday morning.
The deceased was a resident of Thenhippalam in Malappuram district and was working as an assistant professor of Biochemistry at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (MCH).
According to reports, the doctor failed to report for duty on Friday morning and could not be reached by his friends, who subsequently went to his residence and alerted the Medical College police.
Police reached the house and found the door locked. After breaking it open, they entered the residence and found the doctor hanging inside. He was subsequently declared dead.
The body was later shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary after completion of the required procedures.
According to Onmanorama, the doctor's friends reportedly went to check on him after he failed to report for work on Friday morning and could not be reached. Following this, they alerted the Medical College police. Police reached the house and, after breaking open the locked door, entered the residence and confirmed his death.
Police said the preliminary conclusion is that personal reasons may have forced him to take the drastic step. He had reportedly been under mental stress due to various reasons and was also said to have been taking medication for it. He was a rank holder at AIIMS. His wife is a doctor in Ernakulam, reports Kerala Kamudi.
