Ajmer medical officer alleges threats; Doctors Federation seeks police action
Rajasthan Doctors’ Body Demands Police Action Against Harassment at Ajmer PHC
Ajmer: In a disturbing incident, a Medical Officer, posted at Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Himonia, Sarwad block, Ajmer district, has reportedly been subjected to continuous harassment and life threats by a former PHC employee.
The issue came to light after the Doctor’s Welfare Federation (DWF) – Rajasthan raised serious concerns and submitted a letter to the Ajmer district police seeking immediate action.
The Doctor’s Welfare Federation – Rajasthan also shared a copy of the complaint letter on X (formerly Twitter). According to a letter dated October 10, 2025, signed by State President Om Ishwar Panwar and State General Secretary D. Sahul Barwad, the accused has previously served as a computer operator at the PHC, who was terminated due to negligence and rule violations. Since then, he has allegedly engaged in disruptive behavior aimed at pressuring authorities for reinstatement.

The complaint alleges that the accused has been persistently harassing staff members, particularly the Medical Officer. Officials state that he has even issued life threats, reportedly saying he “will not let Dr****” if he is not reinstated.
Furthermore, the letter mentioned that these actions are disrupting the routine functioning of the health centre and undermining the delivery of critical public health services. The Federation described this behaviour as both a personal threat and an act of interference in government work, which they assert amounts to a punishable offence under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and potentially other applicable laws.

1. To ensure the safety of the medical officer.
2. Appropriate legal action should be taken against the accused for harassment, threats, inciting social unrest, and obstructing state work.
3. Adequate police protection should be provided for the safety of the health centre and its staff.
The Federation has also requested a prompt and thorough investigation into this matter, with appropriate legal proceedings to be initiated at the earliest.
The complaint has also been forwarded to the District Collector of Ajmer, Block Officer of Sarwad, and the National President of the Doctors Welfare Federation of India.
