AMCH: Depressed Associate Professor Anaesthesiology hangs self
"Dutta was suffering from depression for the last two years and was undergoing treatment. Last night, he spent some time with his wife before going to his room. The next morning, she found his body. The doctor was regularly taking medicines for his psychiatric problem. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination."
Dibrugarh: Unable to cope with depression, a doctor associated with Assam Medical College and Hospital allegedly took his life by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in Milan Nagar.
The doctor has been identified as Dr. Utpal Dutta, an associate professor of anaesthesiology at the hospital. He was suffering from depression for the last two years, and after being unable to cope with it, he decided to finally give up and commit suicide.
On Tuesday night, he behaved just like on other days, and his wife found no motive in him to take such an extreme step. However, his wife found his lifeless body the next morning on Wednesday at around 5.30 am in their drawing room.

It is unclear why he committed suicide, but the police are investigating the case.
