Andhra Doctor, son duo die in road accident, 2 injured
Srikakulam: In an unfortunate incident, a 45-year-old doctor and his 10-year-old son died in a road accident after their car hit the sidewall of a bridge on the NH-16 near Peddinaidupeta village under Nandigam Mandal in Srikakulam district.
While the duo died on the spot, the doctor's wife and daughter, who were also in the vehicle were critically injured and taken to Palasa hospital.
The deceased have been identified as M Ramesh, superintendent of Government Hospital at Palasa, and his son M Sankalp. The injured are his wife Prasanna Lakshmi, a doctor at the same hospital and his daughter Sairya.

The incident took place on Monday at 2 am when the family was returning from Vizag city in a car on its way to their house in Palasa. Ramesh was in the driver's seat when he suddenly lost control of the car and hit the side wall of a bridge at high speed.
A TOI report claimed that he lost control of the car due to drowsiness and unfortunately he and his son lost their lives in the accident. The front portion of the car was completely damaged as it hit the wall at high speed.
Police took locals' help to remove the body from the car and take the injured to the hospital since the vehicle was crumpled like a ball.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 304A (Death by Negligence), and 338 (Causing grievous hurt by an act which endangers human life) and an investigation is underway.
