Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) elections for the 13-member posts concluded on Tuesday, with about 55 per cent of doctors casting their votes through the e-voting system.
According to news reports, Kola Alekhya, Bolla Mounila, and Manish Mandal secured the highest number of votes. Alekhya led with 10,293 votes, followed by Mounila with 10,189 votes and Mandal with 10,123 votes.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that, after nearly two decades, the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) election process is finally set to take place, with online voting scheduled for February 9. For the first time in its history, the elections will be held entirely through an e-voting system, allowing eligible doctors to cast their votes from anywhere, including through mobile phones.

A total of 56,156 doctors were registered to vote across the state, out of which 30,773, approximately 55%, participated via the e-voting system. Eighty-four candidates contested for the 13 elected positions, with each voter allowed to cast votes for up to 13 candidates. This resulted in a total of 315,745 votes being polled. Candidates with the highest cumulative votes were declared elected.
Speaking to TNIE, Chakradhar Babu said support was provided through helplines, while doctors used ‘APMC Chunav Bot.’ He added that despite busy schedules and overseas commitments, many doctors registered and voted online, reflecting strong engagement.
