AYUSH doctor suspended for allegedly misbehaving with Chief Administrative Officer
Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based doctor working at an Ayush and Unani medical college was suspended after it was reported that he allegedly misbehaved with the chief administrative officer at the Ayush department.
The accused has been identified as a senior medical officer at Sri Jayachamarajendra Ayurveda and Unani Hospital and the complaint was filed by S Shailaja, the chief administrative officer.
The findings of the commissioner of the Ayush department, as per a media report in the Deccan Herald, observed that the doctor's behaviour was unbecoming of a government officer and was affecting the functioning of the office.
The doctor was suspended on Friday, July 8, for violating Rule 3 of the Karnataka Civil Service (Conduct) Rules, 2021, which specifies the duties and responsibilities of a government servant.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that chaos erupted at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after a Grade IV employee allegedly abused a patient's attendant. In response to this, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital placed the latter under suspension with immediate effect until further orders. Apart from misbehaving with the patient's attendant, the staff also punched the person who turned out to be an SSB personnel in uniform which prompted the hospital authorities to take action against the staff immediately. The incident took place at the Cardiothoracic and Neuroscience Centre of GMCH when the employee started a fight with the patient's attendant after the attendant refused to give him money. Ultimately, the employee began abusing the attendant and then physically assaulted the person. The entire incident was caught in the CCTV of the MRD office which showed the employee in a rage attacking the attendant in front of all the hospital staff at the centre of GMCH.
