Bihar Shocker: Quack Performs C-section with Video Call Guidance, clinic sealed
Rohtas: In a tragic incident that has sparked outrage across Bihar’s Karakat region, a 26-year-old pregnant woman died during a botched C-section surgery allegedly carried out by a quack with guidance from another doctor over a video call. The incident, which took place at a private clinic in Godari village, has since been sealed by authorities.
It has been reported that the fake doctor without a degree and knowledge reportedly called another doctor and was taking step-by-step instructions on how to perform the surgery, which in turn led to the woman's death due to alleged medical negligence.
The victim, a resident of Jayshree village, went into labour late on Sunday, July 6. Her family first took her to the Karakat Community Health Centre (CHC). Doctors there said her case was complicated and referred her to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for advanced treatment.

However, an ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker reportedly convinced the family to go instead to Janta Nursing Home, a small private clinic, promising safer and faster care.
Once there, things took a tragic turn as her family said that the attending fake doctor did not perform the operation on his own. Instead, he was seen taking instructions through a video call from another doctor who was not present at the clinic, reports News Click.
According to the eyewitnesses, the doctor on the video call even warned that her condition was worsening and advised shifting her immediately. By the time action could be taken, she had died. Her baby survived and is said to be in good health.
After the incident, police led by Karakat station in-charge Bhagirath Kumar reached the nursing home, sealed it, and sent her body for post-mortem in Sasaram. An FIR has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
Rohtas Civil Surgeon Dr Maniraj Ranjan told News 18, "The district has seen a surge in unauthorised private clinics. Despite sealing many such fake hospitals in the past, they resurface under new names. This time, we are forming a joint task force of police, zonal officers, and block medical officers to launch an extensive crackdown."
