Bogus clinic busted in Guwahati, Quack and 5 others arrested
Guwahati: A fake doctor along with five others have been allegedly arrested by the police while conducting a raid at a bogus medical clinic operating in North Guwahati.
The accused posing as a doctor has been identified as Anil Kumar Bhagawati.
Police came to know about the clinic after one of the patients got treated at the clinic and started to suffer from serious health complications. Based on the tip-off, the police busted the clinic and arrested six accused in total including a nurse and other medical staff.

As per Gplus news, a preliminary investigation revealed that the clinic was operating under the name Root Cure by falsely claiming association with a Guwhati-based medical laboratory and several prominent city doctors.
An FIR was lodged by the Gauripur Police Station against all the six accused and the clinic. An investigation is underway to ascertain whether any more fake clinics are operating in the city.
However, the six accused have been produced in court on Tuesday and justice will be served soon.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that an illegal sex determination centre at Rishi Nagar in Ludhiana was recently busted by health officials along with the city police. Police arrested a female doctor for allegedly running the centre.
Based on the report that sex detection tests were taking place at the centre by people coming from Punjab and Haryana. The health officials in contact with the police decided to raid the place. The raid was conducted by a special team led by district family welfare officer Dr Harpreet Singh.
