Chandrapur Ophthalmologist ends life by injecting self with drug overdose
Chandrapur: In an unfortunate incident, a 48-year-old well-known ophthalmologist allegedly committed suicide by taking an overdose of some medicine at his clinic on Tuesday.
The doctor reportedly ended his life by administering a heavy dose injection which is suspected to be anaesthesia to himself in the restroom at his clinic near Jayant Talkies Square. The reason behind his death is unknown.
The shocking incident came to light when a paramedic tried to contact the doctor about a patient who had visited the clinic at 8.30 pm for a checkup. However, the paramedic did not get a response from the doctor. Following this, he went to check up on him and found the doctor lying unconscious in the restroom.

The paramedic noticed an injection lying next to the doctor's dead body and immediately rushed him to a nearby government hospital where doctors declared him dead. When the doctor committed suicide, his wife and son were away from town.
Preliminary information suggests that he allegedly committed suicide by taking that injection. Meanwhile, the police found no suicide note on the spot.
The doctor's body was sent to Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem on Wednesday. A case has been registered at the police station and an investigation to determine the reason behind his death is underway, reports India Today.
