Chennai Doctor kills woman who blackmailed him with nude photos

Doctor Kills Blackmailer in Kodungaiyur, Confesses to Crime
Chennai: A disturbing tale of blackmail and murder unravelled in Chennai, where a young doctor has been arrested for the alleged cold-blooded murder of a 26-year-old woman who had reportedly extorted over Rs 8 lakh from him by threatening to send his nude pictures to his family.
The woman, a resident of Sattuma Nagar, Thiruvottiyur, was unemployed but had falsely claimed to work at an IT company in Ambattur. According to police, she had been extorting money from several people and was involved in a series of blackmail cases.

She began blackmailing Dr Santosh Kumar, whom she befriended on the internet. She extracted more than 8 lakh from him by threatening to send his nude pictures to his family. This continued harassment pushed Santosh to murder her, police said, reports TOI.
As per the news reports, on Thursday, the victim invited the 27-year-old doctor to her rented residence in Teachers Colony, Kodungaiyur. There, the doctor reportedly gave her alcohol mixed with sedatives, smothered her with a pillow, and fled with 25 sovereigns of gold jewellery belonging to her. Later that evening, the victim’s live-in partner found her unconscious and immediately called for medical assistance. However, paramedics declared her dead at the scene.
Initially, the police registered the case as a suspected suicide since there were no visible external injuries. A deeper investigation uncovered suspicious details. Mobile phone records showed the victim’s last call was to the doctor. CCTV footage confirmed the doctor’s visit to her residence on the day of the incident.

During questioning, the doctor confessed to the murder. Subsequently, police recovered a jute bag containing gold jewellery from the doctor’s neighbour. After interrogation, the neighbour was released, as he was found to have no involvement in the incident.
The woman’s family, unaware of her activities, initially suspected her live-in partner and reported the missing gold jewellery. Police are now investigating whether she was part of a larger network exploiting others through similar blackmail schemes.
