Delhi doctor stabbed to death inside clinic; accused surrenders

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a doctor was stabbed to death inside his clinic in the Shalimar Bagh area of New Delhi. The accused has been arrested for allegedly killing the doctor over suspicions that he was involved in an illicit relationship with his wife, police said on Wednesday.

Soon after the incident, the accused reportedly walked into a police station and surrendered, allegedly confessing to the crime.

Police sources said the accused claimed he had killed his wife’s alleged lover. He later accompanied officers to the clinic, where the victim’s body was found lying in a pool of blood. The Shalimar Bagh police have since arrested the accused and launched a detailed investigation into the sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.

The victim’s family was informed about the murder by the police over the phone. Police have sent the body to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital in Jahangirpuri for autopsy. The post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted on 29 Apr 2026, after which the body will be handed over to the family.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family has rejected claims of any illicit relationship. They alleged that the accused had been pressuring the doctor to marry his niece (his sister’s daughter).

According to the family, the doctor had declined the proposal, stating that he wanted to arrange his sister’s marriage first before considering his own. They suspect this disagreement may have led to the fatal attack.

Grieving family members have demanded strict action against the accused, calling for the death penalty and a fair, transparent investigation.

Police are also scanning CCTV footage from the area to ascertain whether anyone else was also involved in the murder or if the accused acted alone, New9 Live.
