Jabalpur doctor stabbed multiple times during robbery attempt

Doctor Stabbed
Jabalpur: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old female doctor was allegedly brutally stabbed with a knife seven to eight times by a man who had entered her house in Jabalpur’s Gadhha area disguised in a burqa, posing as a woman, to commit a robbery. The doctor is currently undergoing treatment at a Medical College Hospital.
According to the police, the accused panicked and attacked the doctor after being caught red-handed stealing items from her house. The attack reportedly left her with severe injuries.
The victim, identified as Dr. Neelam Singh, posted in the Medicine Department of the Medical College. Dr Neelam and her husband are both doctors. They live in an apartment building of Shri Krishna Complex located in Sanjeev Nagar of the Gadha police station area.

As per the Free Press Journal news report, the incident occurred when Dr Neelam was alone in her flat. The accused entered her house wearing women's clothes (burqa) with the intention of theft. CCTV footage captured him knocking on the door and entering her house.
When Dr. Neelam spotted him inside her home and confronted him, the accused panicked and attacked her with a knife. He stabbed her seven to eight times, leaving her seriously injured. Dr Neelam, in pain, screamed for help, and her neighbours immediately rushed to her aid. At that moment, they caught the accused red-handed, overpowered him, beat him and then handed him over to the police.
It has been alleged that the accused, who used to supply water in the area, a day before the incident, approached the doctor asking for a job. The next day, he attempted to rob her house and attacked her.
During the investigation, the police recovered a blood-stained knife from the scene and reviewed the CCTV for proof. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV footage, in which the accused is seen coming and going and trying to escape, reports TV9.
The incident has created panic in the area and left the local community in shock. The police have arrested the accused and registered a case in this regard. An investigation is underway.
