Delhi Paediatrician's daughter succumbs to cardiopulmonary complications while dancing at her mehendi in Nainital

Dehradun: In an unfortunate incident, a 28-year-old daughter of a well-known paediatrician allegedly died from cardiopulmonary complications during her pre-wedding celebration in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district on Saturday.

According to a TOI news report, the bride, Shreya Jain, collapsed while dancing at her mehndi ceremony at a luxurious resort in Nakuchiyata with her family and friends to celebrate her upcoming wedding. She was immediately rushed to Bhimtal community health centre where the doctors pronounced her dead.

The bride was all prepared to marry a man based in Lucknow, but unfortunately, a tragic event occurred, leading her family to conduct her final rites in Kathgodam upon their return to Delhi.

The deceased father is Dr Sanjay Jain, a paediatrician who runs Shreya Specialist Polyclinic in Dwarka, Delhi and had meticulously planned the wedding events.

In a brief conversation with TOI, the deceased bride’s grieving father said, “My daughter had completed her MBA after BTech and was very happy about her wedding. The groom works in an IT company in Lucknow.”

Bhimtal SHO Inspector Jagdeep Negi said, "Dr Jain had booked the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN)’s opulent Parichay Resort for his daughter’s destination wedding. The marriage was planned for Sunday, and the mehndi ceremony was happening on Saturday evening when she collapsed while dancing. Doctors at Bhimtal Community Health Centre confirmed that she had possibly succumbed to cardiopulmonary complications."
