Mohali Health Centre Doctor Suspended Pending Investigation
Mohali: In a shocking incident, a doctor posted at the Dhakoli Community Health Centre (CHC) was removed from duty on Sunday night after a visitor alleged that he was attending to patients while in an intoxicated state.
The incident came to light when a woman who had visited the community health centre to obtain a medico-legal report for her son noticed the doctor behaving unusually.

Following the complaint, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh directed Mohali Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain to visit the centre. Dr Jain, accompanied by police officials, ordered a medical examination of the doctor.
Dr. Jain stated that a formal complaint had been received and an investigation was launched. The breath analyser test came back negative, and blood and urine samples were taken for further analysis. Appropriate action will be taken once the reports are received.
In the meantime, another doctor has been posted at the Dhakoli Community Centre to ensure uninterrupted medical services for patients.
A similar alarming incident was reported earlier in Tonk, highlighting a worrying pattern of misconduct among medical staff.
