Chandigarh: Renowned cardiologist of northern India, Dr Charnjit Singh Pruthi has recently been appointed as the President of the Punjab Medical Council. He has been assigned the position for the next 5 years.
Previously Dr A.S. Sekhon was serving as the president of the medical body. However, he resigned from his post, six months before the completion of his tenure. He had submitted his resignation to the government on December 1.

Days after his resignation, Dr Pruthi took over as the President of the Punjab Medical Council. After assuming the office at the Punjab Medical Education and Research Bhawan, Dr Pruthi thanked the Chief Minister Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi, and Medical Education and Research Minister Dr Raj Kumar Verka for providing this new opportunity.
