The accused were caught red-handed while refuelling at a petrol pump on the Satana–Taharabad road, attempting to use the counterfeit notes for payment. The incident drew significant attention, as it occurred during the ongoing pilgrimage of Devmamledar Yashwant Maharaj in the city.
As per news reports by Maharashtra Times, Satana police seized four expensive mobile phones, a four-wheeler, and valuables worth about Rs 4 lakh 35 thousand from these youths. It is suspected that a big racket is operating behind this case, and Police Inspector Yogesh Patil has expressed confidence that the place where fake notes are printed will be found soon.
