Mohali: A private hospital owned by a doctor couple has been sealed, while the medical practitioners have been booked for alleged irregularities including administration of restricted tramadol injections to dengue and Covid-19 patients at the facility.
The Zirakpur-based doctor couple has been booked under sections 20, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, following a report by Dera Bassi sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kuldeep Bawa.

The alleged irregularity came to light after the district administration, health department and police conducted a surprise inspection at the hospital on Ghazipur Road, Zirakpur on October 14. They sealed the facility after they found out some major irregularities.
The investigators found an attendant treating patients on the pretext of a qualified doctor during the raid, reports Hindustan Times.
They also found that the restricted tramadol injections were used to treat COVID and dengue patients. Thereafter, the administration recommended an FIR to be filed against the management of the hospital and directed necessary action to the Mohali Civil surgeon.
