Doctor Died allegedly after Covishield Jab, father seeks Rs 1000 crore in Court Plea
Mumbai: Following the death of a 33 year old senior lecturer in a nagpur medical college who diedon 1st March 2021, her father has now filed an plea with the Bombay High Court demanding a compensation of Rs 1000 crore.
According to the petitioner, the Central government's After Effects FolIowing Immunisation (AEFI) Committee, on October 2, 2021, accepted his daughter's death was due to the side effects of Covishield vaccine.
The Medico had died on March 1, 2021 after she got jabbed with Covishield vaccine on January 28, 2021. Her father alleged that her death of due to the side effects of the Covishield Vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII)
The plea pointed that as per the rules laid by the government that every medical staff needs to get vaccinated, she was also obliged to take the shot which resulted in her death. The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) assured that the vaccine was safe for her.
Blaming the government and SII for the death of his daughter, the father has now demanded Rs 1000 crore from the state and Union authorities and the Serum Institute of India (SII).
"She had bleeding, clot formation with low platelets which are all signs of the same condition linked to Astra Zeneca and Covishield vaccine in foreign countries and few in India now. Doctors detected venous sinus thrombosis which was followed by intracranial brain hemorrhage. They performed craniotomy and clot removal surgery. Thereafter she was on a ventilator for 14 days in Gurgaon but her condition did not improve and soon she was pronounced dead," the petition stated
"The Petitioner lost her elder daughter, who was just 33 years old. His loss can neither be explained in words nor can be compensated in terms of money. Only some sort of succor can be done by awarding compensation" ,
The petitioner emailed the Serum Institute stating that after the first Jab his daughter had a headache on February 5, 2021, and showed symptoms of mild migraine but felt better after the doctor prescribed her some medicines. At 2 a.m. on Feb 7 after arriving in Gurgaon, she began vomiting and complained of fatigue. She continued vomiting until morning after which she was rushed to the nearest hospital named Aryan Hospital.
In response to the email, they stated "...In any large immunization campaign such coincidental events and deaths do occur. They are not caused by the vaccine but are actually a part of background rate of events. As informed to you earlier, Covishield do not cause thrombosis or any other cardiovascular events. The known adverse reactions are injection site reactions, fever, headache, malaise, fatigue, etc. The majority of adverse reactions are mild to moderate in severity and usually resolved within a few days of vaccination."
Further, the Serum Institute denied the accusation of the petitioner claiming that there were no side effects found during the clinical trials of the vaccine ,in its affidavit dated November 28, 2021 filed before the Supreme Court of India in the case of Jacob Puliyel Vs. Union of India.
Demanding Rs 1000 crore as compensation, the petitioner also demanded "the petitioner's daughter should be declared as a martyr and open a dedicated research institute in India under the name of Dr. Snehal Lunawat".
The state authorities should be given the liberty to recover the compensation amount from the responsible officials and Serum Institute, Pune, who is the manufacturer of the product
"The Union of India has to direct to take action against Google, YouTube, etc for "suppressing" correct data on death due to vaccination," the plea added.
