Doctor found dead under mysterious circumstances outside Ambala Polyclinic
Ambala: In a tragic incident, a government doctor was found dead inside a car parked outside the Polyclinic in Sector 10, Ambala City, on Tuesday. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The deceased was posted at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Patrehri, Ambala City, and had earlier served at the Sector 10 Polyclinic.
According to reports, staff at the polyclinic had noticed the car parked in the same spot for a couple of days but did not immediately raise an alarm. It was only when they went to check the vehicle that they discovered the doctor's body lying on the back seat. They immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot and launched an investigation.
During a search of the vehicle, police recovered a liquor bottle along with some clothes. The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
Speaking to The Tribune, the SHO of Sector 9 said, “The doctor lived in a rented accommodation in Sector 10. We have been told by the neighbours that he used to drink heavily. The doctor’s wife had died a few months ago, due to which he was upset. The couple had no children. The CCTV footage is being examined. No injury marks were visible on the body, and the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.”
Police said that no injury marks were found on the body, ruling out, for now, any obvious signs of physical assault. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be determined and will likely be established only after a post-mortem examination.
Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to reconstruct the doctor's movements over the past couple of days and establish a clearer timeline of events leading up to his death.
