She came home on March 7 for Holi and was at her boyfriend's house where they allegedly fought, following which the accused stabbed her.
Police said a 30-year-old male doctor, a resident of Janipura was severely injured when he stabbed himself while his girlfriend, who was also a doctor was stabbed to death around midnight of Tuesday.
“The lady doctor was in Delhi and visited the Janipur area to meet his doctor girlfriend,” police added.
According to a media report in India Today, the body of the girl and the accused was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where the accused is still admitted in ICU as his condition was stated to be critical. However, the body of the deceased girl was handed over to her family after completing all medico-legal formalities.
A case under section 302 of IPC and other relevant sections has been registered while the investigation into the case is in progress.
