Dr. Archana suicide case: Prime accused arrested from Jaipur
Jaipur: The prime accused in the alleged suicide case of Dr. Archana Sharma in Rajasthan's Dausa district has been arrested here on Thursday, police said.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported on this incident that unable to bear the pressure of allegations of medical negligence and murder charges, Dr. Archana had committed suicide on March 29. Dr. Archana allegedly hanged herself inside a room of the hospital after the family of a patient, who died during childbirth, created a ruckus blaming her for the death of the patient and filed an FIR against the late doctor and her husband.
The main accused, Shiv Shankar Joshi alias Balya, along with others, was part of the sit-in outside the hospital, police said, adding a reward of Rs 5,000 was announced on his arrest.

Dausa Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Gupta told PTI, "Our team was trying to trace Balya Joshi since the incident. Today, the team arrested the accused from Jaipur."
So far, eight accused have been arrested in connection with the alleged suicide case.
Investigating the matter, the police came across the CCTV footage where it showed that Joshi was using abusive slogans against Dr. Archana inside the hospital. Joshi's connection to BJP leaders in Dausa has been confirmed by the police.

While speaking with TOI, Gupta said, "Joshi was accused of extortion. After the police slapped murder charges on her when a 22-year-old woman was admitted to Sharma's Anand Hospital with labour pain. Though she was taken to the labour room, her condition deteriorated allegedly due to excessive bleeding and she died on March 28."
Taking serious note of the doctor's suicide, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had removed the then Dausa SP Anil Kumar, suspended SHO of Lalsot police station Ankesh Kumar and put Lalsot DSP Shankar Lal under awaiting posting orders status.
Jaipur Divisional Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav was handed over an administrative inquiry into the matter.
