ED searches residence of CMC Vellore Doctor

ED Raids Doctor’s Residence in Vellore, CMC Operations Uninterrupted
Vellore: A doctor working at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, had his residential quarters searched by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday, police sources said.
According to police sources, a seven-member ED team from Chennai, accompanied by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, arrived at the doctors’ quarters near the CMC premises at around 7.30 a.m. The search was carried out in the room of a junior doctor residing in a two-storey building. Sources said the operation was related to the doctor’s family business and not to his professional role at CMC.

Dr. Mathews further said that portraying the incident as an ED action at CMC, Vellore, was factually incorrect and misleading. He categorically denied reports suggesting that an ED raid or investigation was underway at the medical institution.
“No ED raid, search, or investigation happened at CMC, and the institution was functioning normally without any disruption,” the statement said.
Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the nature of the investigation linked to the doctor’s family business.
