Fake doctor treating patients without medical degree arrested in Vadodara

Fake Doctor
Vadodara: A bogus doctor was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) rural unit in Raypura village of Vadodara on Thursday for allegedly practising medicine without possessing a medical degree.
According to the news reports, police said they had received information that a 48-year-old was running a clinic and treating patients despite not possessing the required medical qualifications. Acting on the tip-off, SOG officials raided the clinic and asked him to produce his medical degree.

Police subsequently registered a case against the accused and arrested him. Officials said the accused, who is originally from West Bengal, had allegedly been practising allopathic medicine and prescribing medicines to patients.
Cops are now investigating the number of patients treated by the accused and the time period since when he was operating the clinic, reports TOI.
The arrest has once again raised concerns over individuals allegedly providing medical treatment without the qualifications and registration required to practise medicine.
In a similar case reported a few days ago, Malaviyanagar police in Rajkot arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly running a clinic and treating patients without possessing a recognised medical degree. The accused was allegedly administering medicines to patients at a private clinic on Gondal Road despite having no valid medical qualification.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a move to curb the growing menace of unqualified individuals practising medicine, Malaviyanagar police have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly running a clinic and treating patients without possessing a valid medical degree. The accused was allegedly administering medicines to patients at a private clinic on Gondal Road in Rajkot despite having no recognised medical qualification. According to the police, the investigation further revealed that the accused had worked as a compounder at various hospitals in Rajkot for around 15 to 17 years before allegedly posing as a doctor and opening his own clinic.
