Fed up with life, Homeopathy doctor murders mother, sister, attempts suicide
Surat: A 30-year-old homeopathy doctor allegedly murdered her mother and sister by injecting them with drugs before attempting to commit suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills here in Gujarat but survived, police said on Sunday.
The doctor injected her mother Manjulaben (59) and her sister Falguni (28) with drugs at their house in the Katagram area on Saturday night that caused their death on Sunday morning. She also tried to end her life by consuming a large number of sleeping pills.

However, swift action by her elder brother Gaurav, who returned from Mumbai on Sunday morning, saved her life on Raksha Bandhan, reports Times of India.
She is currently undergoing treatment at the civil hospital, a police officer as quoted saying by PTI.
'Both Manjulaben and Falguni died apparently due to drug overdose while the doctor is undergoing treatment at the civil hospital where the police recorded her statement,' Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), D-Division, DJ Chavda told reporters.
Police recovered a suicide note from the home in which the doctor claimed that she was fed up of life and did not wish to live. "She told police in her statement that her mother and sister were emotionally attached to her and were dependent on her for most of their needs. She thought that their life will become miserable after her death hence she killed them," a police officer told the TOI.
"She gave them an injection of 10 ml of anesthetic drug which is normally given 2 ml to patients. Since there was not enough drug available at home she took sleeping pills," the officer added. In her statement the doctor told police that she gave the injection to the deceased claiming that it is a pain reliever since they both had joint pain.
'Since her mother and sister were dependent on her, she wanted to take their life before killing herself. She said she injected them with a sleep-inducing drug. The exact drug injected will be known after postmortem," Chavda said.
The doctor was living with her mother, sister, brother and sister-in-law at Sahajananad Society in the Katargam locality under the Chowkbazar police station. Her brother and sister-in-law were away at the time of the incident.
"The bodies were sent for postmortem. Police have recorded the statement of the doctor. Further investigation is underway," he said.
Meanwhile, police booked the doctor for murder of her mother and sister. The complaint was lodged by Gaurav, elder brother, in Chowk Bazar police station
