FIR registered against Kumar Viswas's security personnel for assaulting UP anaesthetist
Ghaziabad: A video showing a doctor alleging mistreatment and assault by the security personnel of Kumar Vishwas, a former AAP leader and poet, for not giving way to his vehicles on the streets of Ghaziabad, went viral on social media.
According to the TOI news report, Dr Bajpai suffered injuries to his head and eyes as a result of the assault and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital.
Dr Pallav Bajpai, a resident of Pratap Vihar and an anaesthetist who works as a freelancer in various hospitals in the Delhi-NCR region claimed to have been assaulted by Dr Kumar Vishwas's security personnel, had taken the step of filing a formal complaint with the police.

In response to the complaint, three CRPF commandos deployed in the VIP security unit of poet Kumar Vishwas have been removed from duty pending an inquiry into the incident, official sources informed PTI on Friday.
In addition to this, an FIR has been registered against unidentified security personnel of poet Kumar Vishwas on Wednesday in connection with the case. An investigation into the case is underway.
A video featuring the injured and bleeding doctor gained widespread attention on social media, further highlighting the incident. In the video, the doctor alleged that he was headed for an operation at a private hospital in Pratap Vihar after completing surgery at Vaishali's Arogya hospital when the incident occurred.
On November 8, the doctor alleged that the incident occurred when he gave way to a police car that requested an overtake. He alleged that two cars tried to overtake his vehicle but he gave them the way. However, suddenly men from one of the cars which was a police van blocked his way and began abusing him for not giving them their way.
"They assaulted me when told them that I was a doctor. One of the men told me that Dr Kumar Vishwas was in the car and was getting late for a show. I also informed them that I had an operation scheduled and was getting late. On this, one of the men dragged me out of the car and started beating me up. I have the number of the car noted,” the doctor claimed in his complaint, OpIndia reports.
“I shouted for help, screaming Kumar’s name several times, but he did not step out. They thrashed me for over 10 minutes,” Dr Bajpai told the daily.
Another video of the police personnel assaulting the doctor went viral on social media. In the video, a group of men, one of whom appears to be armed with a gun, can be seen physically assaulting Dr Bajpai near a black Kia Carnival parked under a flyover in the vicinity of the Hindon River.
Following this, he approached the police station and filed a complaint. Later, the police registered an FIR against the security personnel of Kumar under the IPC Sections 392 (robbery), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon) 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
On the other hand, Kumar in a post on 'X' alleged "Today, while going to Aligarh, when I left my house in Vasundhara, on the banks of Hindon, a car driver tried to attack the car of the security personnel travelling with me. The convoy was hit from both sides. My security men got down and interrogated that person. but he attacked not only the UP police constable but also the security personnel of the central forces. I have reported the case to the police. The reason for the attack is yet to be known. May God keep everyone safe. Thank you for all your good wishes."
In response to Kumar's statements, Ghaziabad Police tweeted "In the case that came to notice today, the allegations regarding the attack on the convoy of Dr Kumar Vishwas by an unknown person have not been proved in the course of preliminary investigation. The Indirapuram police station will conduct an advanced investigation into the case."
In response to the doctor's call for justice, the medical community has come together in support of the doctor and demanded that decisive steps be taken to address the issue.
The Centre had accorded a small 'Y' category armed cover of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) VIP security wing to 53-year-old Vishwas last year following his allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with regard to supporting Khalistan supporters.
Three CRPF personnel deployed in the VIP security detail of Vishwas have been removed from duty. They have been replaced by another team of commandos, official sources told PTI.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered after a review of the incident by CRPF director general S L Thaosen.
Prima facie, it has been found that the standard operating procedures were probably not adhered to by the commandos, they said. However, the full facts of the incident will be established after the inquiry is completed, the sources said.
The CRPF has prepared a preliminary report based on some mobile videos recorded about the incident and the initial statements made by the alleged victim and the security personnel involved.
The findings will be shared with the Union home ministry and also Vishwas for future action, they said.
