Former GMC Thiruvananthapuram Superintendent accused of sexual assault, claims honey trap

Elderly Doctor Alleges Property Mafia Harassment in Patna’s Sri Krishnapuri
Thiruvananthapuram: A case of sexual assault has been filed against a senior neurologist and former Superintendent of Government Medical College (GMC) Thiruvananthapuram after a complaint was lodged by a woman currently living abroad.
The complainant, a native of Thiruvananthapuram who is working overseas, alleged that the doctor sexually assaulted her at a hotel in 2023 on the promise of marriage. She stated that the doctor befriended her when she approached him for a medical consultation. She also claimed that he took her to several places, including the medical college campus and Kovalam, during the period when the alleged incident occurred.
Mathrubhumi reported that following the complaint, the Medical College Police registered a case and have begun questioning the doctor as part of the investigation. The doctor is currently on leave.
Meanwhile, the doctor has denied the allegations. He claimed that the woman had threatened to file a case against him and alleged that she had taken lakhs of rupees from him on multiple occasions. According to him, the complaint was filed following a dispute between them.
According to The New Indian Express, the doctor has also filed a police complaint accusing the woman of honey-trapping him. He alleged that she pressured him to buy her a flat and blackmailed him into transferring a large sum of money.
The report further stated that he resigned as the hospital superintendent in September 2025 following allegations that surgeries were being delayed due to a shortage of equipment. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and that the doctor is being questioned in connection with the case.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported in a similar case where a special court in Mumbai denied the discharge plea of a doctor arrested in 2025 in connection with a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), citing that the material on record revealed sufficient grounds to proceed against her.
