From Docs to MLAs: 15 super speciality doctors emerge winners in Telangana Assembly Elections 2023
Hyderabad: Transitioning from patient care to addressing individual concerns, 15 super specialist doctors have won in the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023 representing various political parties on Sunday.
Emerging as winners in the election, 11 doctors are from Congress- Dr K. Rajesh Reddy, (MS Dental Surgery) from Nagarkurnool, Dr M. Rohith (MBBS) from Medak, Dr Vamshi Krishna (MS General Surgery) from Achampet, Dr Murali Naik (MS General Surgery) from Mahabubad, Dr K Satyanarayana (MS General Surgery) from Manakondur.
Dr Parnika Reddy (General Physician) from Narayanpet, Dr Sanjeeva Reddy (Paediatrician) from Narayankhed, Dr Ramchander Naik (MS General Surgery) from Dornakal, Dr Vivek Venkataswamy (MBBS) from Chennur, Dr Bhupathi Reddy (MS Orthopaedics) from Nizamabad rural and Dr Raga Mayi (MD Pulmonology) from Sathupalli.
Three BRS doctors emerged victorious- Dr Sanjay Kumar from Jagtial, Dr Sanjay K. (Neurosurgeon) from Korutla, and Dr Tellam Venkata Rao (MS Orthopaedics) from Bhadrachalam. Whereas, Dr Palvai Harish (MS Orthopaedics) clinched victory as a BJP candidate in the Sirpur constituency.
Dr Ramchander Naik from the congress has secured the highest vote compared to the other 10 congress members who have won in the election. Dr Naik won with a margin of 53,131 votes. He polled 1,15,587 votes or 60.01 per cent of the total votes registered as data shared by SF.
According to a News18 report, Jatoth Ram Chander Naik holds an MBBS and M.S degree in General Surgery. He is 48 years old and is the Indian National Congress candidate from the Dornakal (Scheduled Tribe) constituency in the Mahabubabad district of Telangana in the 2023 Assembly elections. His total declared assets are Rs 11.9 crore which includes Rs 2.2 crore in moveable assets and Rs 9.6 crore as immovable assets as per the election affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.
As per Telangana Today, a majority of the victorious candidates are alumni of Osmania Medical College and Gandhi Medical College, the two premier state-run medical colleges in Telangana.
