Gajra Raja Medical College dean, in-charge superintendent booked after woman employee alleges mental harassment
Gwalior: The dean and the in-charge superintendent of the super-speciality hospital affiliated with Gajra Raja Medical College (GRMC), along with two others, have been booked following a complaint by an outsourced female employee alleging mental harassment.
The woman lodged a complaint at Kampoo police station, alleging that the dean was involved in a dispute with the hospital's then superintendent and had pressured her to register a false case against the former superintendent.
She alleged that after refusing to do so, she was subjected to mental harassment at the workplace and was removed from her duties as a data entry operator and assigned work in a ward against her wishes.
According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the woman has been working as a data entry operator at the hospital since November 2019. She alleged that after refusing to comply with the dean's demands, a cross mark was put against her signature in the attendance register and her salaries for April and May were withheld.
The woman also alleged in her complaint that she was not allowed to breastfeed her three-month-old daughter.
Besides the dean, the woman named three others in her complaint, including the in-charge superintendent of the super-speciality hospital. She alleged that they made objectionable remarks and mentally harassed her.
On a separate occasion, the woman alleged that she became uncomfortable with the dean's behaviour during a hospital inspection. She then subsequently approached Kampoo police station and submitted the complaint on September 15.
Commenting on this, Kampoo police station in-charge Amar Singh Sikarwar said, "The woman employee has submitted a written complaint at the police station. This is a dispute between two parties, and the allegations made by the woman are being investigated. Legal action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the investigation."
